Farmhouse Industrial AKA the Yellow Farmhouse has been MIA

I love this time of year!! The weather is getting cooler, not really where I live, but I pretend.  Styles are changing in clothes, and in your home decor, you get to take out your Harvest decorations!!  Pumpkin candles, and start making your Thanksgiving plans.  But... the reason I am sort of missing in action from making stuff and posting stuff on here and at Yellow Farmhouse is my most favorite thing about this time of year... FOOTBALL!!  NOT JUST ANY FOOTBALL THOUGH... HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL... BASHA BEARS JUNIOR VARSITY TEAM...  My son Luke is a sophomore and he plays defensive end and something on the offense... but this isn't my first rodeo he has been playing tackle football since 2nd grade... yes tackle ... we realized at his first tee-ball game when he was 3 years old that when he hit the ball and decided to tackle the child with the baseball that maybe football was his sport...  I am that mom that knows what is going on I know if your a defensive end I scream "COME ON JONESY!! I WANNA SEE YOU SACK THAT QUARTER BACK !" &  since he is starting on offense too I know exactly what to LOOK FOR  & scream there too 'YOU BETTER FIRE OFF O-LINE & GET YOUR BLOCKS!" My favorite part is watching them enjoy themselves coming together as a team.  One thing I have to point out is that Luke has always fought hard for his positions on every team he has played on.  And we have had years when he thought his position wasn't what he wanted, or important.  It's important as parents to instill in your children at young age the importance of them, (of who they are we love you just because you are our children period!) not what they do first.  Secondly we showed Luke, if he didn't do his job, the team would loose, every position plays a part.  Over the years, he still walks it out, just like we all do with different areas of our lives.  This year my husband gave him this advice, start thanking God that He has given you a place to play and, do your best with a grateful heart, and see what He does.  God always come through for us, if we position our selves in the right place, with the right heart. Luke tweeted before his first game Phillipians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."I didn't even tell you that Luke was playing with an ulcer on his left cornea so he couldn't really see he was in pain, and only had one contact in.. but needless to say he played almost the entire game offense and defense, and some special teams. THE BEARS CAME OUT WITH A 'W' FOR THEIR FIRST JV GAME {35-28} So if you miss me you can find me yelling "YOU BETTA HIT SOMEBODY!" to JONESY #55 at the Basha Bears Junior Varsity games Thursday nights.

....preview items for November 10th Yellow Farmhouse Boutique Sale....

Everything has a story to tell...

Why do we and as we i mean all my fellow vintage loving, junk repurposing, someone else's trash is our treasure.. the older, rustier, the better... love love this stuff... My thoughts short and sweet today are one we like to create stuff, we must create, it is in us, it is part of us, it makes us feel ALIVE, to take something old and maybe ugly and not useful, and make it oh so shabby chic... and then what about that rusty old basket, the one my husband says reminds him of when he would visit his Great Grandma in Alabama and go to the grocery store, or an old farm crate, or that milk glass hobnob rooster candy dish that you hunted for forever... because it makes such good memories flood back of visiting your Grandmother... who filled it with lemon drops, and she called you "chicken little" every time you walked into her kitchen, that smelt amazing...

These "pieces of art" that we create, or repurpose, or that we are lucky enough to find again, they speak to us... they tell us stories, they connect us to something that makes us feel ALIVE.. and makes us SMILE.. and they connect us to those around us today...every time... another vintage typewriter, or globe, comes in... my children and I discuss it or my husband and I are drawn closer because we start repurposing and creating together.

This Farmhouse Industrial Shabby Chic is not just a decor style, it really has been a lifestyle.  I included below the litte about me section from my facebook business page.. PLEASE GO THERE AND LIKE ME... EXCITING AND AWESOME YELLOW FARM HOUSE SALE COMING UP IN NOV.  AND MUCH MUCH MORE.....

decor is art to me .. and I look at things and they speak to me or move me, from a tiny ole' botton to an old picture that might look ruined to someone else because it is wrinkled, but to me it has a story and it becomes my prize possession.. and the rustier, and the scratched up the better, it shows that the 150 year old newel post that I ordered from Pennsylvania has lived an amazing life... m
aybe it was touched by many children running down the stairs on christmas morning, or by a beautiful young woman who was coming down to meet her dad...to get in the horse and buggy to go to her wedding... stop and live and let Life, and things around you start to bring passion back to your life Let them tell their story to you... Or you can tell theirs...

This is my Yellow Farmhouse...with a red door...kinda where it all began

This is the yellow farmhouse on Sunnybrook lane... with the red door, that my husband, found and bought for me, about a year and half ago... it still as you can tell needs help outside.  ALL of those pavers have been sold:)  To a nice family that adopted some twins.  This farmhouse was yellow and had a red door when we bought, but we repainted a brighter yellow, sorry neighbors:)  I think the color is called Dunn Edwards Sunshine:)  I love the names of paints, and markers, and nail polishes..  just to give a start... i fill you in later, but everything on the inside had to be gutted out... and we did it mostly ourselves, and we still our...

There will be soon a place you can find items for sale, and we are thinking of for locals in Arizona having a farmhouse yard sale, with refinished furniture, and industrial items, in the beginning of Nov.

I am going to post one more picture of what I think Farmhouse Industrial Shabby Chic looks like... for today...
These are some fun items in front of my fireplace, some rusted out routers, an old newel post painted in light blue chalk paint, some more rusted out stuff, and a peace subway sign I made, an old wooden farm box, and tray, and you can't tell because of the brightness of the flash, but there are two blue chalk paint re-purposed barn wood shelves.

for all of you blog followers that like to win contest... sign up to follow me on your email, and like me on your facebook page... after we get the first 25 likes and email followers, they will go in a drawing for the PEACE subway art in this picture..
